Hato
El Cedral is a beautiful cattle ranch and an
important center for the growing ecological and
adventure tourism. It is located in low plains of
Apure State in Venezuela.
This ranch provides its visitors with one of the
most outstanding displays of animal wildlife in our
hemisphere. It is also considered an ecological
reserve.
Birds watchers, adventure tourists, researchers,
environmentalists, naturalists and watchers of
tropical species are the main visitors of Hato El
Cedral, who spend a marvellous and unforgettable
time enjoying breathtaking sights and friendly
personal services.
With an extension of approximately 53.000 hectares,
there is a spectacular wildlife. Approximately 340
species of birds have been identified like herons,
egrets, storks, ibises hoatzins and macaws.
A vast quantity of mammals and reptiles can be seen
like crab-eating foxes, giant anteaters, deer,
monkeys, pink dolphins, pumas, jaguars, cocodriles,
caimans and anacondas.
The
capybaras - the largest rodent in the world - have a
privileged place with a number that exceeds the
20.000.
Hundreds of species of wild animals run free clearly
unaware of the danger associated with man's presence,
because hunting has been banned for many years. El
Cedral is a ranch where the animals are friendly and
abundant, which distinguishes it as the best on the
Venezuelan Plains!
Among the installations are a swimming pool and a
pleasant dining room where typical and international
food is available. There are telephone and fax
facilities.
Night entertainment ranges from watching wildlife
videos to the opportunity of participating in
scientific presentations or simply relaxing and
enjoying the rhythm of a local "llanero" music group.
Hato El Cedral can be a natural laboratory for the
ecological tourist. The best place for the
observation of the nature and the wildlife.
