Venezuela
is one of the Caribbean countries blessed with
paradisiacal coasts and islands, on top of warm
weather that makes them enjoyable almost all year
round. Our crystal-clear waters and white-sand
beaches are the perfect natural scenery for
travelers in quest of romance, pleasure or adventure.
Because of their dream beaches, direct flights and
custom-made tourism packages, both
Los Roques Archipelago and
Margarita Island are the most popular
destinations among visitors. There are, however,
other destinations in the eastern and western
oceanfront that are just as fascinating as these two.
These alternative destinations can only be reached
by sea and include, in the eastern part of our
country, islands such as Los Testigos, La
Blanquilla, the
Mochima National Park and the La Tortuga
National Park. Similarly, in the western part,
visitors can bask in the beauty of the Las Aves
Island and the
Morrocoy National Park (famous for its white-sand
keys).
There are a number of tour packages that offer trips
to
Los Roques Archipelago, La Tortuga Island, Los
Testigos Islands, etc. in sailboats and catamarans
departing from the Gran Roque Island, La Guaira,
Higuerote or
Margarita Island. These plans include all
beverages and food, and various activities such as
snorkeling, diving, fishing, and water skiing. These
plans also offer several alternatives, such as the
ability to choose among several destinations and
whether or not to spend the night at a different
place each time, to rent boats for couples (without
a crew), to combine your stay by spending some
nights at one of the inns on the mainland and
spending other nights on the sailboats.
Nonetheless,
if you wish to enjoy a fascinating beach on the
mainland, Venezuela gives you several choices, such
as the beaches located in the Paria Peninsula in
eastern Venezuela, including the Medina Beach (famous
for its calm waters and the large number of coconut
trees), Pui-Pui (with exuberant vegetation and
ecological cabins), Río Caribe and Playa de Uva
Beach, located between a rain forest and warm
continental waters. Another interesting choice for
both local and international visitors is the
Morrocoy National Park, located in Falcón state.
Indeed, Morrocoy’s white-sand keys and waters of
different shades seduce their visitors not only to
sunbathe, but also to dive and snorkel, since the
park holds a marvelous coralline ecosystem within,
abundant in all kinds of underwater riches.
